One of the best ways to keep cool during really hot summer days is in a swimming pool. If you would like one in your own home, but have to move around a lot or do not have space for a large scale pool, is there any hope? Well, the answer is yes. You can have the same refreshing, cool experience with portable swimming pools.
Some of these are the type that you can blow up and are most often used by kids. Larger ones are also available which can accommodate adults, but these are known as splash pools and you cannot swim laps in them. It is just a great way to keep cool while you relax after a long day at work or on the weekends.
Portable swimming pools come in a variety of different sizes, colors, shapes and styles. Some have various patterns and pictures while others may have interesting shapes that are very appealing to children. For example, you may find star shaped ones or heart shaped ones. They can have fun theme inspired designs from under the sea such as fishes, starfish and shells. You can also find some with animals, birds or butterflies in the designs. With such a wide variety of designs to choose from in portable swimming pools, you are sure to find one that will delight just about any child.
One of the most useful and important accessories you may want to purchase for your portable pool swimming pool is a special pump to blow up the pool. It is really difficult to blow it up without the help of a pump of sorts and you will find that a small bicycle pump will even work.
One advantage of the portable swimming pool is when you go away on vacation, it can be taken with you as you may not have access to a pool where you are going or you might find that the public swimming pool there is too crowded or even unhygienic. By taking your own, you will never have these problems and can still have a cool and relaxing vacation without the hassle of crowds and worrying about the safety of your belongings while swimming.
When using a portable swimming pool, you will have to empty the water out every day after use to ensure that the water not get stale and dirty from sitting for too long. If not emptied, it may also attract bugs, leaves or unwanted debris. There is usually a valve located on the bottom of the portable swimming pool which can be unplugged so the water is allowed to drain. When you are ready to cool off again, simply refill the water.
You do have another option. If you are just leaving the pool overnight and plan to use it again the very next morning, you can use what is called a swimming pool leaf net cover, or any other type of tarpaulin, to throw over the pool to protect it from bugs, leaves and unwanted debris getting into it overnight.
Once you decide to no longer use the portable swimming pool for a period of time, storage relatively simple. You can easily empty the water from it, leave it out to air dry, and then deflate it simply by pulling out the stoppers and allowing the air to escape. Next, it can then be folded up nice and small again, then return it to your suitcase ready to travel or in a cool dry place, like a closet, until you want to use it again.
The one drawback when using a portable swimming pool, is that it can sometimes get punctures. When this happens, you can get small patches with which to mend the hole. The best way to find the hole is to fill the pool with water. You will be able to see the bubbles coming from the area where the hole is located. This should make the pool as good as new and ready for the arrival of kids home from school and in desperate in need of a cool swim and good, healthy exercise. If you end up with a pool that has been patched up one too many times, it can be handily recycled as a fun sand pit for the kids. Now, it has taken on an extended life and will have served for two great entertainment purposes instead of one.
